How do perceptions affect physical appearance?

Your perceptions mold the physical, including how you see physical appearance.

If you feel unattractive, you will physically see yourself as unattractive. If you feel fit and healthy, you will see yourself as such. If you are insecure about a part of your body, you will physically see it as less than ideal. In fact, the reason why exercise works is because it’s a process by which you gradually change your perception from insecure to secure. As your perception changes, your physical appearance is molded to match. Depending on how fast your perception changes determines how fast your physical appearance changes.

True Self outwardly exposes feelings in the physical. When a connection is made with True Self, the feeling of fulfillment becomes physically visible. Alternatively, a lack of connection can cause insecurities. This makes people feel unattractive by their own perception.

Always feeling displaced

as I carry my weight

and hold on to my face

when it falls to the ground

as I look all around

my security down

nervous smile turns to frown

so unpleasant to see

my perception of me

in your eyes I can find

what I sense with my mind.
