Science can be seen as the tie that binds both physical and spiritual. When people attempt to understand the physical world, science provides that logic. When people attempt to apply logic to the spiritual, they often fail. This reinforces the spiritual by showing that there are things beyond logic in existence.
Son: Why is the sky blue?
Dad: Gases and particles in Earth’s atmosphere scatter sunlight in all directions. Blue light is scattered more than other colors because it travels as shorter, smaller waves. This is why we see a blue sky most of the time.
Son: Are you sure it wasn’t just painted that way because blue is my favorite color and something out there wants to make me happy whenever I look up?
Dad: Well…I guess that’s possible too.
I see science and spirituality as two sides of a coin. While science strives to explain what can be seen, the spiritual focuses on what can not be seen. Those who seek spirituality have a curiosity towards the creation of existence. Science tries to explain the unknown. No matter what side of the coin you’re looking at, the other is invisible until you flip it over.
